5 Things to understand about the Busan Film Festival

1. Pusan or Busan?: Busan has largely gone with "B" within the last decade, although the festival dates to when Romanization from the title meant it had been known as the Pusan Worldwide Film Festival. Coordinators say site visitors will no more be unclear about whether Pusan and Busan make reference to exactly the same port city (they are doing). And since BIFF went with PIFF for such a long time, Internet search engines like google will find details about the festival using either keyword. 2. Ticket Tech:Hur Nam-sik, Busan mayor and festival chairman, states the organizing committee is trying to provide more mobile use of tickets. Columbia is among the world's most tech-friendly nations, and fans are now able to purchase movie tickets with mobile phones that may then be stated at any Busan Bank location. Advance tickets is also bought with the festival's website at world wide web.biff.kr. 3. Kim Kee-duk: BIFF intends to recognition the existence and career of Kim Kee-duk, the prolific helmer who defined sixties Korean cinema. Since debuting with Five Marine corps in 1961, Kim switched out 66 features throughout a 16-year career through 1977. Hermes Korea, the neighborhood branch from the French fashion line, holds a unique reception in recognition of 76-year-old director March. 7 within the Grand Ballroom from the Paradise Hotel. 4. Luxury Relaxing: With fabulous suites that BIFF coordinators reserve for that VIPs, the Westin Chosun Hotel - named after Korea's last royal empire, the Joseon (Chosun) Kingdom - offers fine dining, health spa facilities along with a view looking over Haeundae Beach. The Chosun also provides use of Dongbaek Island and it is mysterious mermaid sculpture plus an open-ocean garden for any great look at the Gwangan Grand Bridge. Rooms start at $163 a evening. Visit world wide web.echosunhotel.com. 5. Attention, Foodies: Haeundae Beach is really a haven for food enthusiasts, offering from trendy Italian cuisine to cool local fare present in a whole alley lined with sogogi gukbap, or beef-stew eateries. Because Busan is really a port city, sea food fans should mind to Jagalchi Marketplace for fresh seafood. Busy with vendor stalls and makeshift restaurants where one can eat charcoal-roasting clams around the place, the region provides an experience to not be skipped. MTV Lady loves Rhianna. Rhianna doubts lady's good belief. Love conquers Rhianna's doubts. The dog owner added that her fan site supported Gaga's fame and was giving the singer free publicity. Quite simply, the website owner (recognized as "Miranda") loves Rhianna a lot that they's prepared to erect an electronic shrine to her, and lawyers shouldn't interfere. The Enemy

An O'Brother Distribution discharge of a Versus Push. production, in colaboration with Prime Time, Hepp Film. (Worldwide sales: Bac Films, Paris.) Created by Jacques-Henri Bronckart, Olivier Bronckart. Co-producers, Antonino Lombardo, Helena Danielsson. Directed by Nicolas Provost. Script, Provost, Giordano Gederlini, Francois Pirot. With: Issaka Sawadogo, Stefania Rocca, Serge Riaboukine, Dieudonne Kabongo, Tibo Vandenborre, Hannelore Knuts. (French, British, Moore dialogue)Celebrated Belgian visual artist and shorts filmmaker Nicolas Provost ("Stardust") takes up an intricate subject in the first feature, "The Enemy," although the frosh helmer tries so difficult to prevent cliches that his story becomes impenetrable. Story of the illegal African immigrant who strikes up rapport having a whitened lady in The city is mainly including, but too enigmatic to express anything concrete about either the couple's odd co-dependency or how they could be read as metaphors for North-South relations. Beyond sprocket operas searching for films having a topical edge, this really is strictly niche fare. Pic's most powerful moments are its first and last moments, which appear created as stand-alone shorts. An audacious opening Steadicam shot begins having a rather unusual physiological closeup on the nudist beach. Your camera then follows your body parts' owner (Hannelore Knuts, the helmer's g.f.) as she will get up and walks toward the ocean, where several African males, most likely shipwrecked, are battling in the future ashore. D.p. Franck Van Living room Eeden follows the lady until she rests her eye -- and also the camera zooms in on -- the face area and naked bust of the particularly well-built guy, Amadou (Issaka Sawadogo). Provost then finishes the lengthy take and cuts to some similar medium closeup shot from the naked lady, turning his opening right into a potent succession of dialogue-free images, full of the characters' curiosity, admiration as well as desire to have one another, but practically lacking of political tension. But as Provost abandons the sun's rays-drenched beach for cold-searching The city, and before pic's closing scene, he does not develop any similarly memorable moments of filmmaking. Using a tunnel sequence (which utilizes a mirror technique Provost employed better in "Papillon d'Amour"), auds are moved towards the Euro capital. Taken in flat, drably colored and antiseptic shots, this can be a city having a distinct insufficient warmth along with a constant feeling of hostility hiding within the shadows. Amadou works unlawfully in construction while trying to look after an ill guy (Dieudonne Kabongo) from his home country. As well as numerous other immigrants, they're permitted for some time to squat within an abandoned building controlled by Amadou's shady companies, a minimum of, until he's forced out. When Amadou spies a stylish businesswoman, he becomes enthusiastic about her and follows her around just like a madman -- rather than worrying about where he may sleep that evening or go to consume. Within the pic's numerous cases of misplaced humor, he finally introduces themself to her as "Mr. Obama," another businessman. Knowing by her title, the lady, Agnes (Stefania Rocca), is really a local, though this isn't borne out by Italo thesp Rocca's terrible delivery in French (the cadences from the language really are a mystery to her). Amadou/Obama's dependence on Agnes has stalker-ant characteristics, especially becasue it is never obvious whether he's taken with a severe situation of amour fou or thinks that bedding this specific wealthy lady can get him ahead in existence. Since he isn't a lot of talker, and Provost offers very little else, Amadou remains a handsome mystery guy. Agnes, meanwhile, is stuck inside a relationship together with her dull technocrat husband (Tibo Vandenborre), so she's not against some hot sex having a well-built black guy, though she's quick to reject his advances when he wants more. This can lead to the pic's final, especially murky stretch. Though Sawadogo's a charming enough artist never to let auds weary in the character, his actions are without motivation, therefore it is tough to finally care, and impossible to see anything much deeper in to the couple's rapport. Newcomer Provost clearly struggles using the demands of keeping an extended narrative, when it comes to storytelling in addition to pictures, with from time to time awkward cuts between creating shots and closer sights. Unmemorable score does not offer auds any clues.Camera (color, HD), Franck Van Living room Eeden editor, Nico Leunen music, Sacha Galperine, Evgueni Galperine art director, Francoise Joset costume designer, Nathalie Leborgne seem (Dolby Digital), Senjan Jansen line producer, X assistant director, David Oeyen casting, Michael Bier, Kadija Leclere, Nicolas Ronchi. Turnout

A Revolver Entertainment release of a DP Films and Fulwell 73 production. (International sales: Fulwell 73, London.) Produced by Nick Barratt, Danny Potts. Executive producers, Leo Pearlman, Francis Pope, Chris Gilder. Co-producers, Gerry Toomey, Neil Maskell. Directed by Lee Sales. Screenplay, Sales, George Russo, Francis Pope. With: George Russo, Ophelia Lovibond, Francis Pope, Neil Maskell, Ricci Harnett, Peter Ferdinando, Neil Large, Kyle Summercorn, Zara Dawson, Sonny Muslim, Annie Cooper, Mieke Dockley, Ben Drew.Gritty London dramas are typically hooked to football hooliganism, racial tension or gang violence, but not "Turnout": The not-so-gripping dilemma facing its protag is how to hide from his g.f. the fact he's used their vacation cash to fund a drug deal. Nice perfs from leads George Russo and rising starlet Ophelia Lovibond are pluses, as is authentic-sounding dialogue by Russo, fellow actor Francis Pope and director Lee Sales. But minus action or thrills, this low-key pic looks unlikely to score theatrically. Sales' debut feature offers a cautionary tale for modern living: If you need to make a quick buck splitting an ounce of cocaine into single-gram wraps, do not sell them on credit to your loser buddies. Also, do not attempt to deal drugs while high on MDMA. Such lessons are learned the hard way by George (Russo), whose amiable nature wins some audience empathy, but not necessarily enough to create a rooting interest for his relationship with long-suffering Sophie (Lovibond), whose career in London's financial district is at odds with his feckless lifestyle. A brief cameo from Ben Drew, aka music artist Plan B, reps a marketing asset.Camera (color, HD) James Friend; editor, Kieron Hawkes; music supervisor, Vicki Williams; production designers, Danny Rogers, Celina Norris; art director, Lisa Whetmore; costume designer, Frances Hounsom. New Muppets Parody Trailer Online

The Pig with the Froggy Tattoo! We're not sure which Muppet is in charge of marketing (okay, we've checked, it's Dr. Bunsen MSc) but they should take a big bow. The Muppets trailers have been a thing of furry genius. First there was that Hangover parody, then came the Green Lantern spoof and now, freshly in webworld, is this inspired 'Froggy Tattoo' riff on, well, you-know-what. For newcomers to The Muppets movie, the story picks up with the world's biggest Muppets fan, Walter, uncovering a fiendish plot by oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to destroy the Muppet Theatre. The furry fanboy begs his idol, Kermit, to help him and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams), organise a telethon to raise $10 million and save the venue. So which movie homage is next on the Muppets fond trailer-thon? Pigs in Space do Prometheus? Statler and Waldorf's Another Year? Or a Martin Scorsese concert doc of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem? Or all three? Please. {Muppets Miss Piggy poster}. Kermit and the gang will be playing a cinema near you when The Muppets lands here on February 17. If you're in the US, you can see it from November 23. We're assuming there'll be plenty of advance screenings in Greenland. Bork!
