Three for Gotham tributes
Helmer David Cronenberg and thesps Gary Oldman and Charlize Theron will receive career tributes at the Gotham Independent Film Awards this year. Trio of creatives will join previously announced Fox topper Tom Rothman, also set to take home a tribute honor at the Independent Film Project's 21st annual kudofest. All three newly added honorees have films set for release in the coming months. Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method," soon to be seen in a gala screening as part of the NY Film Festival, bows Nov. 23 in a Sony Pictures Classics release. Theron topliner "Young Adult," helmed by Jason Reitman, gets a Paramount release Dec. 16, while Focus' "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," starring Oldman, lands in theaters Dec. 9. The Gothams also hand out seven competitive awards including feature, doc, helmer and thesping kudos. This year's edition is set for Nov. 28 at Cipriani Wall Street.
